So apparently life is busy since I never seem to find time to actually sit down in front of an actual computer outside of work anymore, hence the lack of blog posts. Typically, by the time I get home from work, feed the family, spend time with the kids and get them in bed, I’m all tuckered out. I’ve fallen into the routine of just checking all of my emails and social media through my iPhone and have sadly neglected my blog. Sorry for any of the readers I may have left!
So as you can see, I’m still alive and well. The family is all doing well…relatively. Paul has been out of work due to a back injury since May, so that’s not so great, but on a positive note, it did allow us a lot more family time together. Evan just turned 4 last month and is very excited to go to pre-school next month. Liana is now 15 months and just started walking this past Saturday. We are all so very excited for her. She’s still practicing the skill so crawling is still the dominant mode of transportation, but I know it won’t be long before she is giving her brother a literal RUN for his money.
We’ve really been enjoying our summer this year. Made some new friends that we spend a lot of time with and we’ve gotten a lot of use out of the swimming pool over the past few hot months. I can honestly say I didn’t much mind the heat since we had a way to cool off and even didn’t have to mow the lawn! As we approach the middle of August, I am little sad to see the summer go, but I’m also excited for all the fun Fall activities upcoming. I’m sure we’ll have lots of exciting adventures and our share of challenges but I welcome it!
What can I say. LIfe is so busy with 2 kids and working full time! I apologize for the silence.
We have definitely been busy around here. The kids are doing well and growing like weeds.
I’m looking forward to Spring so we can get outside more, although I’m not complaining at all about the lovely mild winter we’ve been having.
We are going through some struggles lately with daycare issues, so please pray that we will find the new perfect placement soon. So sad that our arrangement for the past 3 years has ended, but I suppose everything happens for a reason and someday, looking back, this will become more clear. In the meantime, this is extremely stressful and unsettling. 😦
My sweet children:
I’m going to try to put together a catch up post soon. So much growing going on with the kids! I promise I’ll put some cute pictures up too.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Liana had her 2 month check up on Monday. She weighs 12 lbs 11 oz and is 23 1/2 inches long. She’s in the 95th percentile for height/weight and has grown a whopping 3 inches in 2 months! We may have a tall girl on our hands!
Her pediatrician said she looks perfect and so did the orthopedic specialist who checked on her hips later that day (hip ultrasounds are standard procedure for breach babies).
I just love that the word constantly repeated for my daughter is: PERFECT. Couldn’t ask for better!!
It has finally happened – Evan went poopy in the potty!! Not only that, he now WANTS to go poopy in the potty and has voluntarily gone twice more by himself!! This is such a HUGE step for him and a relief for me. It’s one step closer to Evan being fully potty trained. The next step will be to get him night trained, but I imagine that could take awhile. However, I’m hoping that with this progress, we can at least stop waking up to Pull Ups full of #2s.
We are all so very proud of him and he is EXTREMELY proud of himself. Happy Day!
Today Evan was playing in his play room when I heard a loud noise. I went in to see what was going on and this is what I encountered:
Initially when I saw that the recycling bin had been dumped out, I was very annoyed. When I asked Evan why he had dumped it, his response made my heart melt and I just couldn’t stay mad at him. He looked at me with the most excited expression and informed me that his car was a “garbage truck” and he had dumped the recyclables on the truck. The pure creativity and imagination of this scenario impressed me. I’m so happy that he is such a smart and creative little boy.
Here are a few more pictures from this weekend:
